چکیده
The study aimed to assess central nervous systems in children diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), using the techniques of magnetic resonance (MRI). analyses considered 200 children, both female and male, aged 6–17 years, FASD, as well 32 healthy sexes, 6–16 years. Brain anomalies linear surface area measurements brain corpus callosum were assessed. 1H MRS DWI signals evaluated frontal lobes, basal ganglia, hippocampi, cerebellum. Several found FASD. Qualitative assessment showed thinning 40% cases cerebral ventricular asymmetry 32% children. mean thickness isthmus length statistically lower Higher Lip/Cr concentration values NAA/Cr, Cho/Cr, mI/Cr concentrations multiple studied regions. analysis present findings group that MRI examinations FASD more often identified a decreased abnormalities, particularly region ganglia.

Hearing in children with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD).
BACKGROUND Alcohol is the most prevalent human teratogen affected by early exposure of the fetus. Although not listed as a major part of the fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), different texts list hearing loss as a characteristic of the FASD, based on several small studies. OBJECTIVE To characterize hearing in children with FASD, diagnosed in the Motherisk Program in Toronto. DESIGN Cr...
متن کاملFetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (fasd)
Establishing a unique neurobehavioural profile for people exposed to alcohol in utero would be a tremendous aid in diagnosis, treatment planning and epidemiological research. Epidemiological studies of fetal alcohol syndrome have shown that only one?third of the babies born to mothers who drank heavily during pregnancy presented with full-blown FAS. 2 Moreover, the majority of people who were e...
متن کاملMR of fetal central nervous system abnormalities.
PURPOSE To investigate whether MR can provide additional information on fetuses with central nervous system abnormalities as demonstrated by ultrasonography. METHODS Fetal MR examinations were studied prospectively in 22 pregnant women whose fetuses showed evidence of anomalies on ultrasound performed in the High-Risk Obstetric Clinic. RESULTS In 19 of 22 cases, postpartum confirmatory diag...
متن کاملEvaluation of the neurobehavioral screening tool in children with fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD).
BACKGROUND There is a growing need for validated tools to screen children at risk of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD). The Neurobehavioral Screening Tool (NST) is one of several promising screening measures for FASD, though further evidence is needed to establish the tool's psychometric utility. OBJECTIVE To assess the predictive accuracy of the NST among children with an FASD diagnosi...
متن کاملReinforcement Learning in Children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
Background It is often said that children with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) have difficulty learning from reinforcement. However, there is little empirical evidence to support or deny this claim. Objectives To examine reinforcement learning in children with FASD, specifically: (1) the rate of learning from reinforcement; and (2) the impact of concreteness of the reinforcer. Methods Pa...
